Rally Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 7, 2026
Rally is built for private shared albums. The people invited to a rally should be the people who can see it, and we do not use your memories to run ads, sell data, or build marketing profiles.
The short version: Rally does not sell personal information, rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketing partners. We use service providers only to operate Rally for you.
On this page
1. Our privacy promise
Rally is an invite-only place to collect photos and videos from real-life events. There is no public discovery feed, no follower graph, no targeted advertising, and no sale of personal information.
Content in a rally is meant for the people invited to that rally. If you choose to export, save, or share something outside Rally, that sharing is controlled by you.
2. Information we collect
We collect the information needed to create accounts, run shared albums, keep content synced, and protect the service.
- Account information: your name, email address, authentication identifiers, profile details, and sign-in status.
- Rally information: rally names, dates, locations you enter, invite links, membership roles, and settings.
- User content: photos, videos, captions, reactions, comments, thumbnails, file names, file types, upload times, and related media details.
- Device and app information: device type, operating system, app version, crash reports, performance logs, security logs, and push notification tokens.
- Support communications: messages you send us, including your contact information and the details needed to respond.
Rally does not upload your address book. Rally only accesses photos, videos, camera, location, or notifications when you grant the related device permission or provide that information in the app.
3. How we use information
We use information to provide and improve Rally, including to:
- Create and secure your account.
- Show rally content to the members of that rally.
- Upload, store, sync, organize, and display photos and videos.
- Send invitations, activity updates, and push notifications you have enabled.
- Detect, prevent, and respond to abuse, spam, security issues, and service problems.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Maintain, debug, and improve app reliability.
We do not use your photos or videos for targeted advertising, cross-app tracking, or data-broker products.
4. When information is shared
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or third-party marketing partners.
We share information only in these limited situations:
- With rally members: people invited to the same rally can see the content and details shared inside that rally.
- With your direction: when you invite someone, export content, save content to your device, or choose to share outside Rally.
- In invite link previews: when you share a rally's invite link, that rally's name and cover photo are served from a public web address so the link shows a preview. Anyone who has the link, and any link-preview service that sees it, can load that name and cover photo. No other content in the rally is exposed this way.
- With service providers: vendors that help us operate Rally, such as cloud hosting, authentication, storage, crash diagnostics, email delivery, and push notification delivery. They may process information only for Rally's operating purposes.
- For safety and legal reasons: when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse, enforce our terms, comply with law, or respond to valid legal process.
- Business changes: if Rally is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
5. Device permissions
Rally may ask for device permissions so the app can do what you request. You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings.
- Photos and videos: to let you select media for upload, save shared media to your library, and show local media you choose.
- Camera: to capture photos or videos for a rally if you use that feature.
- Notifications: to send rally invitations, activity updates, and other app notices.
- Location: to set or improve rally place details when you choose to provide location information.
If you deny or later turn off a permission, Rally will continue to work where possible, but the related feature may be limited.
6. Apple App Privacy summary
For App Store Connect, Rally may collect contact information you provide, account identifiers, user content, photos and videos, app activity, diagnostics, and device identifiers needed for push notifications and security. Some data may be linked to you because Rally needs to associate it with your account and rally memberships.
Rally does not use this information to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies. Rally does not share this information for third-party advertising or third-party marketing.
7. Retention and deletion
We keep account information and rally content for as long as needed to provide Rally, maintain security, comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
When you delete content, leave a rally, delete a rally you own, or request account deletion, we remove the related information from active systems where required and delete remaining copies from backups on a rolling schedule. We may retain limited records when necessary for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, or legitimate business records.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information. You can also opt out of sale or sharing where those rights apply. Rally does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Inside Rally, you can:
- Edit your profile information.
- Delete photos and videos you added.
- Leave a rally or delete a rally you own.
- Manage device permissions in iOS Settings.
- Turn notification permissions on or off.

9. Children
Rally is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in your region. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child provided personal information to Rally, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
